I made a brief mention of this burgeoning apocalyptic movement a few weeks ago. It came as quite a shock to me to see this billboard in the west end of Toronto, Canada. It’s not like we’re in the midst of the bible belt up here.

I have remarked privately that once 2011 hit, the ramp-up to the impending 2012 hysteria would seriously begin to build (it may overpower the next presidential election).
We get an early preview with an emergent Christian sect declaring judgment day is (literally) around the corner. If you’re still here by May 22 this year, then you’re not saved and it’ll all be over by October.
“Beyond the shadow of a doubt, May 21 will be the date of the Rapture and the day of judgment,” he said.

It may not have taken long for us to lose our first customer as a result of taking on DNS for wikileaks.ch (who knows if we lost any for incorrectly blamed for unplugging them in the first place). One of the support guys just relayed the following from a customer:
“With regards to easyDNS support for Wikileaks and enemies of the State and support for terrorists overseas.
He and his clients disapprove of easyDNS position and our open support of Wikileaks.”
We may be hearing more of that in the days to come.

Everytime I get an automated phone call trying to sell me something, or a junk fax come through on my home line, I basically become incensed. Tonight I got one of each: an automated robot trying to sell me something and an attempt to send me a junk fax on my home voice line.
For years I have been telling myself “one of these days I’m going to….” you know, actually do something about it. Because I’ve actually got an idea worked out that would be pretty effective at making all this crap go away.
